Dining precinct tops DFO menu

Plans for a new outdoor food area have been unveiled by the owners of DFO Cairns.

After buying the shopping centre for about $40 million in April, Sentinel Property Group is now aiming to “take full advantage of its prominent location” by creating a vibrant DFO Food Precinct. Sentinel managing director Warren Ebert said the company was in negotiations with several food operators and expressions of interest were being sought.

“The new DFO Food Precinct is designed to be a destination in its own right,” Mr Ebert said. “As well as being part of the only direct factory outlet in North Queensland, it also offers high-profile exposure on to Mulgrave Road. The property is strategically positioned to provide a new night-time casual dining precinct for Cairns and has the huge advantage of providing more than 1430 car spaces for free unlimited parking. “We believe the location, exposure and parking at DFO Cairns is very well suited to the creation of an exciting new outdoor dining precinct for the benefit of Cairns locals and visitors alike.”

Space at the new outdoor precinct is available for lease, ranging from 125-329sq m plus alfresco seating.
